Profile
Taquitos West Ave stands as San Antonio’s street taco royalty, serving authentic Jalisco-style mini tacos that have defined the city’s Mexican food scene since 2008. Owner Luis Cerrillo brought traditional street-vendor techniques from Jalisco, Mexico, creating San Antonio’s most authentic taco experience at 2818 West Ave. “Luis Cerrillo, started this business in 2008 with the goal of bringing street-style mini tacos from Jalisco, Mexico to Texas.” Their signature suadero (brisket) and tripas (intestines) remain customer favorites, alongside perfectly seasoned al pastor served Thursday-Sunday only. The unique ordering system reflects Mexican street culture: order at the window, eat, then pay, with roaming servers bringing drinks and extra salsas. “Okay so I asked Google for the best taco places in San Antonio and it gave me some long list so me and my girl decided on Taquitos which was ranked #1. We had the Asada tacos and Lengua tacos Both were excellent.” Their chorizo tacos burst with smoky flavors on perfectly grilled corn tortillas, while lengua and cabeza showcase traditional Mexican preparations. With aguas frescas, Mexican Coca-Cola, and prices around $2 per taco, this Latinx-owned establishment delivers unmatched authenticity and value.
